PHOTOSHOP LAYERING

I have made no secret of my dislike of using Photoshop for anything that does not actually have a purpose or can demonstrate it has added value to the image.

However on this occasion I plan to use Photoshop to add text to my images in a way that is not too intrusive and can hopefully work with the image to give both visual impact and strengthen the message.

The copy being added to the image are statistics form the NHS for the percentages of the population in different age groups that are reported to have suffered form both depression in one form or another or some other diagnosed form of mental illness.

My plan for these statistics is to embed them in the image in a way that will draw the viewer in to the image to read the small text. These images while being reproduced on a large scale will have a very personal intimate vulnerable feel and pasting bold obvious copy over them would reduce their effectiveness and turn them into doctors waiting room posters which is not my intention.
