A personal investigation

My personal investigation will look a the work of two inspirational photographers who have influenced my work.

By analysing their style and content I have produced a number of photoshoots based upon their work and style. By doing this I have learnt new skills and developed a better technical understanding of my cameras and the techniques and effects I am able to create in camera.

This study of what some would consider "traditional" photographers who largely produce their images in camera without a reliance upon post production and image manipulation in Photoshop.

While I realise more and more photographers immediately turn to Photoshop or camera phone filters in an effort to create "the perfect image" I firmly believe that the quietly observed, unedited or manipulated image has more power and honesty than a processed cliched image created using filters, effects and plugins which is more focused on gaining clicks and likes on social media that it is on telling a story or honestly capturing the moment.

The lessons learnt through this investigation of photographers who have influenced my work and the skills I have developed during this journey will be brought together to form the foundation of my final project.
