DRAKES CIRCUS Multi exposure

Section 1: Introduction

With a basic understanding of the techniques needed to produce a multiple exposure image in the comfort of our home I wanted to take this technique onto the street and into a real environment.

Section 2: Objectives

My aim with this shoot was to investigate how the technique of multiple exposure could be harnessed to produce interesting images which. captured the energy and movement of the city centre. At this stage I was creating images with equal exposure across all frames.

Section 3: Methodology (Materials & Methods)

Using a Canon 1Dxiii camera and both 24-70mm and 70-200mm lenses and the camera fitted to a tripod I wanted to make a series of multiple exposure images in the city centre.

Section 4: Results

It is interesting to see how by zooming in and out on the scene it as possible to create wonderful busy images that combined both the chaos of the city centre with the structure and uniformity of the buildings

Section 5: Critique

Several of the images were either over or under exposed and areas of bright sunshine tended to burn out. I also discovered that the best images had contrast in colour rather than contrast in light and shade

Section 6: Learning Outcomes

The images below demonstrate the final results.
